We are Bej Zamná Cozumel (from the Mayan "Path to Wisdom"), a non-profit Civil Association that has been working since 2016 for Social Development, particularly promoting and ensuring children's rights. Since 2021, we offer kindergarten (preschool) and lower primary education (first and second grade). Inspired by Waldorf pedagogy.
Our dream was always to open a school that allows children to have an innovative curriculum inspired by Waldorf pedagogy and Mexican tradition. A school that is focused on supporting children in their natural learning process taking into consideration intellectual, social, emotional, artistic, cultural, health and environmental care factors. Our objective is to be an inclusive option to all socioeconomic groups and thus gradually end the misconception that a comprehensive and caring education is only for those who can pay for it. Quality education is a right, and we have been working continuously on this beautiful project to enforce this right for our children.
Our Mission
To be a Social, Educational and Sustainable Center that provides services for the holistic development of children from all socioeconomic backgrounds, innovating in alternative education in our locality. We aim to create the first learning space inspired by Waldorf pedagogy and Mexican tradition, operating both as a school and in extracurricular settings. This center facilitates comprehensive learning and knowledge for both the child and adult community on important topics for collective well-being, such as environmental care, the promotion of art and culture, inclusion of people with disabilities, among others.
Our Vision
To be an organization that contributes to the development of free and conscious human beings capable of transforming society for the better. Fostering cultural identity, health, respect for life and the environment in children, adolescents and adults.
